About the Founder –Founder & CEO, buyandsells.in Hi, I’m Usman Khilji, the founder of buyandsells.in – India’s fastest-growing free online classifieds platform that makes buying and selling used goods simple, safe, and truly local.With more than 12 years of experience in e-commerce, online marketplaces, and product development, I launched buyandsells.in in 2023 after realizing that millions of Indians needed a platform that was completely free for sellers, extremely easy to use, and built around trust and community.Today, buyandsells.in is trusted by lakhs of users across the country, and we’re growing faster every month. - Exploring new cities and small towns across India (I believe the real insights come from the streets, not spreadsheets)

- Experimenting in the kitchen – I make a mean biryani and love trying regional Indian recipes
- Playing cricket or badminton on weekends (still trying to bowl a perfect googly)
- Spending quality time with my family – they keep me grounded and remind me why we’re building all this

- Buy Second-Hand First – Always
Before clicking “Buy Now” on Amazon or Flipkart, search buyandsells.in (or any local group) for 10 minutes. 9 out of 10 times you’ll find the exact same thing in mint condition at 40–70% less. I still haven’t bought a new phone or laptop in the last 6 years. - Sell or Give Away Within 7 Days of Upgrading
The moment I buy something new, I post the old one the same week. Price it low, click good photos, write an honest description → it sells in hours and someone else gets a great deal. - Repair, Don’t Replace
Broken chair leg? Cracked phone screen? Laptop running slow? 80% of things can be fixed for ₹500–2000. We have a “Repair Shops” category on the app because I want local repair guys to stay in business. - One In, One Out Rule at Home
New shirt comes in → one old shirt goes out (either sold or donated). Keeps the house clutter-free and forces me to think twice before buying. - Turn “Waste” into Someone’s Treasure
Old cables, half-used paint cans, broken toys, extra tiles after renovation — I post everything with clear photos and “free” or “pay what you want.” They disappear faster than free biryani. - Prefer Renting or Borrowing for Rare-Use Items
Drilling machine, ladder, camping tent, projector, pressure washer — I use them once a year. So I either borrow from a neighbour or rent for ₹100–200 instead of buying something that will collect dust. - Teach Kids the Value of “Used = Cool”
My kids get excited when we buy a “pre-loved” Lego set or bicycle from buyandsells.in. They now brag to their friends that “Papa got it for half price and saved one plastic toy from going to landfill!”
